There are many environmental education theories and Palmer’s tree is one of them. For example, Hungerford and Volk’s theory is widely used and also Jeronen and Kaikkonen’s House Model. But the Tree Model is the most popular one that people usually use. This is because it is the simplest to understand, but still includes all the important aspects of environmental education. All the theories have similar base: positive nature experiences, nature knowledge and tools to act. The theories differ a bit in used methods or age-focus, but the core idea is the same in all the theories.
